986,098. Semi-conductor demodulator circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and C. BOWDEN. April 13, 1961 [April 13, 1960], No. 13282/60. Heading H3T. A circuit arranged to produce a voltage across a capacitor in dependence upon the amplitude of an input signal comprises a transistor and a Zener diode connected in a D.C. path between the output circuit of the transistor and the capacitor. The input signal is applied to the transistor to control the current in the output circuit when the capacitor is discharging, the transistor being periodically cut off to charge the capacitor through the Zener diode in the reverse direction. The input signal is fed to a unit 2 which produces two quadrature outputs, the first of which has its positive-going portions removed and is fed through an amplifier 4 to the base of transistor 6 via resistor 9, and the second of which is fed to the shaper 3 which produces sharp positive-going pulses concident with the peaks of the negative-going signal. These pulses are of sufficient amplitude to cut off the transistor and are fed to the base via capacitor 5. During the time the transistor is cut off, the capacitor 15 charges through resistor 12 and Zener diode 14, during the remainder of the time period, the capacitor discharges through the transistor to a potential determined by current in the output circuit of the transistor, which is controlled by the input from amplifier 4. The resulting potential is smoothed and fed via emitter follower 19 to control the attenuation of attenuator 22 (see Specification 986,009) connected in a sweep oscillator signal path 25-32 of a vibration tester, the signal 1 being derived from an accelerometer mounted on the vibrator.

[Also in Division H2] A circuit for indicating insulation faults with respect to earth of a network 2 supplied with polyphase A.C., e.g. from a transformer 1, with insulated neutral, comprises semi-conductor rectifiers 7A-7C connecting each phase to a common point 5 which is connected to earth through a resistance 8 and a current measuring instrument 10. The meter 10 may be calibrated in ohms and checks the overall insulation of the three phases as it will give the same indication for a resistance fault R on one phase as for 2R on two phases or 3R on three phases. A relay 9 may be included in the circuit to open the circuit-breaker 3 if there is a fault. The rectifiers 7A-7C may be protected by fuses 14A-14C and indicator lamps 15A-15C may be connected across the fuses.

The conceptual approach consists in acquiring an MR image or spectrum for any pH-sensitive MR property of molecules non-permeable to the membrane. The chemical shift of a nucleus localized in, or in close proximity to, an ionizable group of a non-permeable molecule, is normally used as a pH informative resonance in the extracellular space. Several MR methods (CSIC - Chemical shift selective imaging, or SI - spectroscopic image) can be used to determine the spatial distribution of the informative resonance, and thereby the extracellular pH distribution within the sample. This information is most useful in clinical conditions such as muscular dystrophy, isquemia, tumoral transformation and metastasis, among others.

The method involves connecting a stationary or mobile system (5) and a motor vehicle (1) through a cable (8), where charging of the traction battery (3) is carried out through the cable. The traction batteries have voltage greater than 100 volts. The transfer of diagnostic data is carried out before or after the charging of the traction battery. An independent claim is included for a data processing device for storage or conversion or interpretation of diagnostic data, software programs, software program parameters or customer-related information.
