摘要：PURPOSE:To measure the thickness of a transparent substance easily, correctly and quickly by collecting both of the linear penetrating light and the forward scattering light from the transparent substance and measuring the transmitting spectrum. CONSTITUTION:Transparent flakes are arranged on a transparent substrate in such a way that the faces thereof are approximately parallel to the substrate. Or, a transparent substance of a thin film with a crack is formed on the transparent substrate. In the measuring method to measure the transmitting spectrum of light by projecting light to the substance, both of the linearly transmitted light and the forward scattering light from the substance are collected thereby to measure the transmitting spectrum. It is simple and effective to collect the forward scattering light to use also an integrating sphere for a photodetector. In general, an object is tightly held in touch with the window of the integrating sphere at the measuring time. However, the measuring method does not require this, and the object may be set at a position where most of the scattering light from the flakes enters the integrating sphere. A detector with a photodetecting surface of a large area may be used, instead of the integrating sphere.
